Here are the 5 Best Eco Haircare Brands for you to Try

I tried all of these eco-friendly shampoos so you don’t have to!

Plaine Products

Plaine Products is a super cool brand because it offers a refillable system to return your old bottles to be reused over and over again. For shampoo performance I would give this brand a 7/10. I have a few other brands I prefer fr my hair type, but overall it works nicely and leaves my hair feeling clean. I also LOVE the lotion and body wash they offer, so I’ll definitely continue to use those!

Saltair

I saw this brand in Target one day, and since it came in an aluminum bottle I thought it’d be fun to give it a try! After looking into their sustainability initiatives, I wasn’t able to find too much since they are a newer brand. I also don’t love how they claim to be cruelty free, but don’t have a third party certification to back up the claim. Supposedly, they say they are working on getting one - so I’ll be on the lookout to see if I see it! For performance, this is the worst performing haircare out of this bunch. It’s possible I selected a formula that wasn’t compatible with my hair type, but overall it did not make me feel like my hair was clean after using it. I’d rate it a 6/10.

Raw Sugar

I also saw this brand in Target! after reading the bottle was made with Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastic, I knew I needed to try it out. I was pleasantly surprised using this brand. It left my hair feeling soft and clean, and the price was affordable. I’d rate this shampoo an 8/10. If I was in a pinch and didn’t have time to order my other favorite shampoos, I’d grab this one!

Rhyme and Reason

Rhyme and Reason actually gifted me this shampoo and conditioner duo since it was a new release! To be honest, I was initially so excited to try it out since I’d heard of the brand multiple times. Unfortunately, after using the product I developed an allergic reaction all over my face, so needless to say that I didn’t use it again after that! I’d rate this shampoo a 1/10. I feel bad giving that low of a score, but it really did not do its job since I had an allergic reaction to it. On the bright side, the smell is wonderful!

Dip Haircare

Saving the best for last, I will forever be a stan of Dip haircare! I’ve been using their shampoo and conditioner bars for over a year now, and every time I’m impressed with how soft they make my hair feel. I also love how these are shampoo and conditioner bars, so you’re able to avoid any plastic use by using these products. I’d rate these a 10/10 for smell and performance! (Pssst… I loved it so much I asked the brand if they had any codes for my audience to take advantage of to try it out. My code for Dip is “krystalynngier” if you’d like any money off!)
