Is Saie Sustainable or is it Greenwashing?

Is Saie sustainable or is it greenwashing?

Welcome to “Sustainable or Greenwashing” series where I’m sharing if brands and products are actually what they say they are.

Is Saie sustainable or is it greenwashing? đź’„

Saie was founded to be a new kind of beauty brand, one built on the simple idea of feeling good and doing good. They are Climate neutral certified, 1% for the planet, Plastic negative, Leaping bunny cruelty free, FSC Certified, and a part of the Carbon Neutral Club. 🌎

Packaging is a mix of different materials with some PCR plastic packaging, and they’ve Partnered with pact collective for proper packaging recycling which I think is super cool.

Also, if you order directly from the brand they don’t use packing peanuts, instead they use cotton balls to pad the inside which you can keep & use which I think is so creative.

Saie did say they have the goal this year to work on less transportation to work towards a smaller carbon footprint, and I also noticed instead of PR or merch, they have something called “Saie Vintage” which is essentially their way of thrifting cool and unique items, and using those as branded merch instead of going the fast fashion route. 👜

So is Saie sustainable or is it greenwashing?

As far as sourcing and manufacturing, I couldn’t find too much on that and would love to know more on that in the future, but out of all of the makeup brands in Sephora, this one seems like one of the best to support. So I’m gonna say it’s sustainable - but what do you think? 🤔

XOXO,

Krys
