Is Saltair sustainable or is it greenwashing?🫧

Welcome to my series “sustainable or greenwashing month” where I’m sharing if brands and products are actually what they say they are. 👀

Y’all have requested Saltair, and I was intrigued since they come in cute aluminum packaging - so let’s dive in. 💆‍♀️

Saltair was founded by Iskra Lawrence, a brittish model who promotes body positivity.

Saltair products are vegan, paraben free, sulfate free, and I like how they have ingredient transparency on their website by breaking down why they use each one. They do claim to be cruelty free but I couldn’t find a third party verification, so just something to note.

Saltair partners with One Tree Planted and using mostly aluminum packaging which is infinitely recyclable which I love - but I couldn’t find much on their ingredient sourcing or manufacturing practices.

I did find this (clip of website) on their website which is totally a start, I just wish they had more information available on what their company goals are when it comes to reducing their impact.

So is ECOS sustainable or is it greenwashing?

With that, Saltair defintiely has SOME sustainable initiatives, but they’re lacking the transparency I would need in order to say they’re a truly sustainable brand. SO, I hate to say it but it feels a little greenwashy to me.

I would only change my mind if they got a third party verification for being cruelty free & included tangible goals they’re working towards to be more eco consious - but what do you think? 🪴

You can binge my other Sustainable or Greenwashing videos on my page AND also now on my website blog & if there is a brand you want to see, let me know in the comments! đź•ş
