April 2024 #2: No Buy Month Update, Struggling, & Burnout

Mood Right Now:

Hey, friend!

Has 2024 seemed hectic for you? Or is it just me? I really feel like it’s been a year where every other day there is something chaotic happening. I’m not mad about it, but wow do I feel exhausted. I’ve got a lil reminder today below about embracing struggle, so I hope you know if you feel like this, you are not alone. 💛

As promised, here is my No Buy Month Update!

For those of y’all who are new here, I planned a “No Buy Month” for the month of March to take inventory of how much money I was spending. Long story short, I learned a LOT.

The first thing I noticed I tend to spend some serious cash on is FOOD. Not only are my groceries for a household of 2 about $500/month, I also tend to eat out multiple times during the weekend. It’s interesting to me because I just didn’t realize how often I was eating out before keeping track of my spending!

Note to self: try limiting eating out on the weekends to just 1-2 times.

If you haven’t tried something like a “No Buy Month”, I highly recommend it. It was really eye opening to see how I’m spending my money and decide if those spending habits were in alignment with my goals. If you have any questions - reach out! I want to hear if you’ve tried this before and/or if you’re looking into doing it yourself.

XOXO,

Krys

This month’s gentle reminder: Struggling Doesn’t Mean Failure

I went for a run the other day and selected the “Struggle Run” guided run on the Nike Run App. Man, I was not prepared for the knowledge Coach Bennett was about to drop on me.

Struggling doesn’t mean failure.

So many times we find ourselves struggling. Whether it’s struggling with a routine, struggling to recover from an injury, struggling to be a friend to yourself, struggling to sleep, or even struggling to take days off. There are so many things we struggle with in our lives, and it may make you think that struggling makes you feel like a failure. But let’s reframe that thought, shall we?

When we struggle it means we are working towards our tasks and goals with dedication. It means you are actively trying to get better and that you still have strength.

Struggling means successfully not giving up.

Struggling is a part of all of our lives and will manifest in different ways, but let this be your reminder that struggling is a part of learning. It’s a part of life. You’re not a failure. You got this, friend. <3
