February 2024 #1: Love, Friends, and Finding Community

Are you feeling the love in the air? 💕

February is my favorite month (not just because it’s my birth month) because it’s a month that I feel like people are a bit more affectionate than they usually are. In fact, it’s a time of year where I feel like community is essential. From making new friends to hanging with family, the chilly weather makes for wonderful indoor cozy activities to nourish your friendships.

So if you’re reading this, take a moment to plan a little crafting night with some friends, your SO, or even yourself if you need a little “me time”. I’ll put below a few get together ideas that are my favorite. 💕

  • Build Your Own Charcuterie Board - Tell everyone to bring one meat, one cheese, and a cutting board, and everyone who attends gets to design their own board to snack on. Get creative with Salami roses, dried fruits, and even fun designs. *Pairs well with chilled wine.

  • DIY Candle Painting - This one is my favorite! Go to your local thrift store and thrift several candle sticks along with some colored tea lights (you can order these online too, but I find that thrift stores typically have a ton of candles that have been donated). Then use toothpicks or paint brushes to paint the candle sticks with the wax from the colored tea lights. It’s a cozy activity and perfect for my crafty people out there. *Pairs well with a signature mocktail of sparkling water & fruit juice.

  • Coffee Shop Sunday - Host your favorite people over and turn your kitchen into a “coffee shop” for a morning. If you have an espresso machine you can make homemade lattes, or if you’re lazy, grab a few cold brew concentrates from the store and mix up some yummy caffeinated beverages for everyone. *Pairs well with oat milk.

XOXO,

Krys

This month’s gentle reminder: Love is Unconditional

There’s a lot of talk about love in February, and it’s important to remember that true love is unconditional. It comes from within yourself and you do not need to act a certain way or look a certain way in order to love yourself. Whether you’re single or married, grant yourself permission to acknowledge your worth and tell yourself you are valuable. Give yourself a pat on the back or even a little solo hug as a symbol that loving yourself should be enough. <3
