November 2023: Holidays, Setting Boundaries, & What’s Trending

Turkey szn is here 🦃

The above is exactly me the SECOND it becomes November 1st. It’s not that I don’t like Thanksgiving - I LOVE it! However, since Thanksgiving decor is nearly nonexistent, why not put up the Christmas decor a little early??

I know last month we talked about how the time in between holidays seems to get shorter every year, and I want to piggy back off of that sentiment. In a society that pushes profits for the next holiday, how can we still learn to live in the present moment?

Holidays feel like they fly by as we get older, but I’ve learned that they can feel happier, stronger, merrier the more you set aside time to be intentional.

I have a podcast episode coming out soon about my advice for a more intentional holiday season, so here’s a little sneak peak.

  1. Set Boundaries - Lean into what YOU want to do this season, not what other people want from you. These boundaries are key to making the holiday season special.

  2. Beware of Marketing - Even though social media may be pushing you to buy a bunch of stuff, you don’t have to! There are plenty of free & thoughtful gifts you can DIY for your friends and family.

  3. Reach Out - If you’re feeling blue this winter, make an effort to reach out to loved ones. You’ll be surprised at how many of them love to support you.

How are you planning to be more intentional this season? Hit reply and let me know!

XOXO,

Krys

This month’s gentle reminder: Boundaries are Key

I mentioned this above, but I’m gonna go ahead and mention it again. Boundaries are key. Especially when the holidays can feel overwhelming for so many of us. I remember one year I felt so much pressure from myself to go to every single holiday party and family gathering, that by the end of the season I felt absolutely exhausted. Since then, the best thing I’ve done for myself was to write down my holiday expectations and make sure to stick to them.

So try it out! Write down what is most important for you this season and define what you’re willing to do. It may help avoid those holiday blues. <3
