Is Cocokind sustainable or is it greenwashing?

Welcome to “Sustainable or Greenwashing” series where I’m sharing if brands and products are actually what they say they are.

Is Cocokind sustainable or is it greenwashing? 🌱

I covered Cocokind 2 years ago, but let’s dive in and see what they’re up to now. Cocokind was started to to change the status quo of the beauty industry and break the cycle of “aspirational beauty.”

Cocokind is vegan (with the exception of 3 products that use beeswax), leaping bunny cruelty free, FSC Certified, & most formulas use certified organic ingredients.

In 2021, Cocokind introduced carbon labeling on all of their packaging which basically shares the carbon footprint behind each product. Also on the packaging they have a section dedicated to how to properly recycle it. ♻️

As far as sustainability initiatives, since 2022 they’ve partnered with the climate action platform Patch to support several climate projects (and remove 461,000 kg of carbon dioxide)

& they have several blog posts about using ethical labor, fair pay, safe manufacturing, and their thoughts on improvements on minimizing waste, energy, and materials used. 🌎

So is Cocokind sustainable or is it greenwashing?

I do wish they had more third party certifications, but overall, they seem to be really transparent on their ingredients & carbon footprint and they also seem to be backing up their claims with actions. So it looks sustainable to me - but what do you think? đź’›

XOXO,

Krys
