Is Everspring sustainable or is it greenwashing?
Welcome to “Sustainable or Greenwashing” series where I’m sharing if brands and products are actually what they say they are.
Is Everspring sustainable or is it greenwashing? 👀
Everspring was started to represent a fully eco friendly line exclusive to Target & was launched on Earth Day 2019.
Products are certified USDA Biobased, Paraben free and Phthalate free, but I also noticed a lot of the packaging icons are not third party verified - for example, the cruelty free icon is just a made up logo and I couldn’t find stats to back up that claim. 👀
I found a lot of the products to be a step in the right direction like offering product refills and 100% recycled paper products like napkins & paper towels. Packaging is mostly plastic, but they claim that all bottles plus sprayers are recyclable, and most packaging uses PCR plastic.
I also could not find information regarding manufacturing or ingredient sourcing, so I have to doc them for that, but I also want to note that generally speaking, Everspring products are a step in the right direction and are affordable, especially for those just getting started into making eco swaps.
So is Everspring sustainable or is it greenwashing?
HOWEVER, for a major retailer who can afford third party verifications & could easily put together more transparent information on their “clean and sustainable” product line - this seems a liiiiitttle greenwashy to me - but what do you think? 🌎
XOXO,
Krys
